Getting to Know U: Scarlet Dale

Learn more about incoming freshman Scarlet Dale in the latest of our newcomer "Getting to Know U" series. Dale, who hails from Lancashire, England, is in her first season with the Utah cross country season.
Q: Why did you pick the U?
A: There were great teammates to run and compete with. And I loved the mountains.
Q: Why did Utah stand out among other schools?
A: The coaches and the team just really felt like a family to me. The surroundings around the campus were much better than any other school I visited.
Q: What is your favorite thing about SLC so far?
A: The Bonneville Shoreline Trail
Q: If you were not competing in XC/Track at the U, what sport would you play?
A: I played hockey for the North of England, so probably hockey.
Q: What is your favorite food? The food you most dislike?
A: My favorite food is carrots, actually. I do not like mayonnaise.
Q: What is your most used emoji?
A: The mountain emoji. ??
Q: What is your favorite movie and/or TV show?
A: My favorite movie is "Mean Girls".
Q: What was the last book you read?
A: I read To "Kill a Mockingbird", but that was quite some time ago.
Q: If you hosted a late night talk show, who would be your first guest?
A: Kílian Jornet Burgada. He is a mountain runner.
