FAST BREAKS
• Utah returns home to the Jon M. Huntsman Center where it will play its only contests of the season against both Oregon squads, as Utah will not return a game to Eugene nor Corvallis in 2018-19.
• Utah will face-off with Oregon this Thursday, Jan. 31, at 7 p.m. MT, prior to closing out the week hosting Oregon State on Saturday, Feb. 2, at 3 p.m.
• Utah is coming off its first-ever road sweep in the Bay Area, following a 70-66 victory over Stanford this past Thursday and an 82-64 win at California on Saturday.
• Utah's win over Stanford was the first time the Utes had won in Palo Alto, dating back to 1971. It is the program's first-ever win over the Cardinal at Maples Pavilion since joining the Pac-12 Conference.
• With the pair of road wins this past weekend, Utah has now won four straight - the team's longest winning streak of the season and its longest streak since winning four consecutive NIT games last season.
THE GAME
Utah (11-8, 5-2 Pac-12) returns home to host the Oregon Ducks (12-8, 3-4 Pac-12) this Thursday, Jan. 31, and will then wrap-up play this week taking on the Oregon State Beavers (12-7, 4-3 Pac-12) on Saturday, Feb. 2. The Utes and Ducks will tip-off from the Huntsman Center at 7 p.m. MT on Thursday, while Saturday's contest between the Utes and Beavers is set for a 3 p.m. MT tip-off.
COVERING THE RUNNIN' UTES
Thursday and Saturday's contests will both air on the Utah Athletics Radio Network (ESPN 700 AM) with Bill Riley and
Jimmy Soto announcing. Thursdays match-up against the Dicks will be televised on Fox Sports 1 with Joe Davis calling play-by-play and Matt Muelhebach serving as an analyst. Saturday's contest with Oregon State will be aired live on the Pac-12 Networks with Guy Haberman providing play-by-play and Matt Muelhebach returning to serve as the color commentator.
SCOUTING OREGON
The Ducks are 12-8 overall and 3-4 in Pac-12 play ... Oregon is coming off a split from this past weekend, having fallen at home to Washington, 61-56, but then defeating Washington State, 78-58 ... the Ducks were picked to win the league in the preseason media poll, but Oregon has won just three conference games total, with all three victories coming in the previous five games ... Oregon is just 2-3 in true road games, with a 1-1 record coming on the road against conference opponents ... Oregon did win at Arizona, but then fell to Arizona State on the road ... Oregon opponents are shooting .411 from the field overall, but the Ducks limit the three-ball, as teams are shooting just .302 from beyond the arc - which ranks 36th in the nation ... Oregon's scoring defense, giving up just 64.4 points per game, ranks first in the Pac-12 and 28th in the nation ... meanwhile, Oregon's offense shoots .448 from the field - only ninth in the league - and averages 71.6 points per game ... Oregon is without leading scorer, Bol Bol (21.0 ppg), as he has been declared to miss the remainder of the season due to injury ... the Ducks still have three players scoring in double figures, with Louis King leading the way at 12.8 points per game ... Payton Pritchard (11.5) and Paul White (10.9) follow ... King (17.9) and White (14.4) are the only two players averaging double digit scoring efforts in league play ... King's 5.5 rebounds per game leads the team, while Pritchard has tallied a team-best 93 assists ... Pritchard also leads the team, league and ranks 8th in the nation with a .915 free throw shooting percentage.
UTAH vs. OREGON SERIES HISTORY
Utah won the only regular-season meeting between the two teams last season, downing the Ducks 66-56 in Eugene, but Oregon served the Utes a little bit of redemption and downed Utah 68-66 in the second round of the Pac-12 Conference Tournament in Las Vegas a few months later. With the overall split decision a year ago, Oregon now leads the all-time series 20-10, which includes a 5-5 mark when facing Utah in Salt Lake City. The regular-season victory snapped a nine-game losing streak to the Ducks, while also giving Utah its first win in Eugene since 1951. Oregon has won three consecutive games against Utah at the Jon M. Huntsman Center, with Utah's last win coming back on March 9, 2013.
LAST TIME OUT
Utah downed California, 82-64, this past Saturday in Berkeley to give the Utes its first-ever Bay Area sweep since joining the conference in 2011-12.
