Moss, Fotu, Anae, Blackmon won’t pursue NFL early
SALT LAKE CITY—Four members of Utah's star-studded junior class have informed football coach Kyle Whittingham that they intend to stay in school for their senior seasons rather than enter the 2019 NFL Draft. Defensive end Bradlee Anae, defensive tackle Leki Fotu, running back Zack Moss and cornerback Julian Blackmon all received All-Pac-12 honors this past season in helping Utah to the South Division title and a berth in the Pac-12 Championship game.
Â
Anae, who led the Pac-12 in sacks with 8.0, and Fotu both earned first-team all-conference honors. Moss made the second team despite missing the last five games following knee surgery. He rushed for 1,092 yards (his second-straight 1,000 yard season) and 11 touchdowns to lead Utah in rushing. Blackmon is a two-time All-Pac-12 defensive back.
Â
Said Moss, "I want to stay in school and finish my degree. I'll be the first person in my family to get my degree and that is important to both my mom and to me. I also want to be a part of our team goals for next year and graduate with (high school teammates) Demari (Simpkins) and Tyler (Huntley)."
