PULLMAN – No. 15 Utah volleyball stayed hot on the road and defeated No. 22 Washington State in four sets (27-25, 25-15, 23-25, 25-19) in Bohler Gym.

Dani Drews led the way once again with 22 kills leading the Utes to their fifth victory in a row. Utah improved their record to 19-7 overall and 11-4 in the Pac-12.

The Utes built a 2-0 lead and had a lead in the third, but the Cougars came back to extend the match. In the fourth, Washington State tried to make another comeback, but Utah shut the door to earn the road victory.

Washington State came out strong in the first and built a 17-9 lead. Utah's defense led them back and at one point they had four blocks in a row to tie it up at 18. The team's traded points from there and the Utes spoiled a set point before winning four of five points to go up 1-0 in the match. Drews had eight kills and 3.0 blocks in the first set.

Once Utah got going, they didn't slow down. They got out to a 7-3 lead in the second and eventually pushed it out to 15-8. The Cougars never threatened after that as the Utes claimed a 2-0 lead.

Utah was on their way to a sweep in the third leading 19-11, but Washington State started its comeback. They chipped away and ended up extending the match with a 25-23 victory in the fourth.

Not wanting Washington State to keep the momentum, Utah quickly turned the page taking another early lead at 8-3. They also didn't let a repeat of the third set happen once they took a lead. Their largest lead was eight and they ended the set and match with a 25-19 fourth-set victory.

To go along with Drews monstrous offensive night, she also had 5.0 blocks and 10 digs.

Berkeley Oblad had eight kills and 5.0 blocks. She's now just two kills away from kill 1,000 for her career.

Brianna Doehrmann had another strong match with 20 digs and is now just 19 digs away from the second most in program history.

Saige Ka'aha'aina-Torres finished the match with 47 assists and eight digs.

Utah will stay on the road for one more match this Sunday, November 17 against No. 13 Washington at 2 p.m. MT.
