2019 NFL Draft Set To Run April 25-27

SALT LAKE CITY – The 2019 NFL Draft is set to begin Thursday, April 25 and run through Saturday, April 27 in Nashville, Tenn. as former Utah football players hope to begin their careers as pros. All seven rounds will be televised on the NFL Network, ABC, ESPN and ESPN Deportes.
Utah currently has six former standouts listed on NFL.com's Draft Tracker with 13 total players appearing in this year's pro day on the University of Utah campus. Utah's hopefuls will look to be one of the 254 total draft picks this weekend, to take that next step to the NFL, joining 20 Utes currently on NFL rosters (13 drafted).

Marquise Blair, Cody Barton, Mitch Wishnowsky, Chase Hansen, Matt Gay and Jackson Barton are all featured on NFL's Draft Tracker with all six attending the 2019 NFL Combine.
LB Cody Barton
Quick Hits: Barton was a four-year letter winner for the Utes, playing in 50 total games with 23 starts. During his time at Utah, the Salt Lake City native racked up 234 tackles that included 23.5 tackles for loss and 9.0 sacks.
Draft Tracker Analysis by Lance Zierlein: Tough inside linebacker who relies on strength, effort and early diagnosis to rack up tackle production. Barton has played inside and outside linebacker spots but will likely lock in as an inside linebacker in odd or even fronts. His speed, strength and short-area-quickness testing were all strong at the combine, which should help push him up. He's an instinctive, tough player with backup and special teams ability who should hear his name called in the middle rounds.
OL Jackson Barton
Quick Hits: Barton was a four-year letterman and two-year starter for the Utes where he earned All-Pac-12 as a senior. Barton played in 53 games during his time in Salt Lake City, appearing on the line in 44 games with 29 starts.

DB Marquise Blair
Quick Hits: The Wooster, Ohio native burst onto the scene at Utah after earning first-team NJCAA All-America and first-team all-region as a sophomore at Dodge City CC. He started both seasons as Utah at safety, earning second-team All-Pac-12 as a senior.
Draft Tracker Analysis by Lance Zierlein: Athletic, full-throttle prospect with the mindset of a linebacker in a free safety body. Blair plays the game with an aggressive field demeanor that fuels his passion to race into the action, ready to strike on sight.
PK Matt Gay
Quick Hits: The 2017 Lou Groza Award winner is a two-time All-American with consensus honors in 2017. He ranks third all-time at Utah with 56 career field goals, is fourth in attempts (65), third in career kick scoring points (253), set the school record for 50-yard field goals made (8), ranks second in career field goal percentage (86.15) and is seventh in career PATs made (85).
Draft Tracker Analysis by Lance Zierlein: Surprising omission from the Senior Bowl, Gay is a big boy with an even bigger leg who has the ability to drive both the long field goal and the long kickoff.
LB Chase Hansen
Quick Hits: Hansen played in 43 career games with 35 starts, recording 272 total tackles that included 33.5 tackles for loss, 22 passes defended, six interceptions, four forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries. His 164 career solo tackles is tied for seventh in program history while his 33.5 tackles for loss puts him tied for sixth all-time.

Hansen is caught somewhere between puffed-up strong safety and undersized WILL linebacker. His coverage background and his nose for the football could help him find work as a nickel linebacker with special teams value.
P Mitch Wishnowsky
Quick Hits: The Perth, Australia native is a three-time All-American, the 2016 Ray Guy Award winner and is the only three-time Ray Guy Award finalist in NCAA history. He has 62 career punts of 50-plus yards, which ranks second all-time at Utah, 175 career punts for fourth all-time and 8,004 punt yards to rank sixth in program history.
Draft Tracker Analysis by Lance Zierlein: Wishnowsky's punting style is more about control than power and once he gets into the league and eliminates the Aussie punts, we will see his hang time take a big step up. While teams might like to see a little more leg from him when it is time to flip the field, his consistency and ability to work with control as a pooch punter will be more meaningful.
