SALT LAKE CITY – Utah senior golfer
Kyler Dunkle has been selected to play in the NCAA Stanford Regional, hosted at Stanford Golf Course from May 13-15, 2019.
Dunkle is the eighth Utah player to compete at NCAA Regionals since 1994.
"This is an exciting way to Kyler to cap off an awesome senior season," Utah head coach
Garrett Clegg said. "He has great momentum going into Regionals after a strong Pac-12 Championships. We're disappointed that we won't be going as a team, but excited for Kyler to continue."
Dunkle, who was a second-team All-Pac-12 selection, finished second at the Pac-12 Championships for Utah's best individual finish ever at the event. The team tied for fifth, its best finish since joining the league. Dunkle's second round of 64 tied for the lowest round among all players.
Dunkle won two tournaments this year, the Showdown in the Rockies and the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational and finished in the top 10 in five tournaments. He has birdied 123 holes this year, which ranks him 20
th in the NCAA, and has eagled six holes. Dunkle leads Utah with a 71.2 average.
Dunkle has three career victories with a career scoring average of 71.78.
