SALT LAKE CITY – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced its final national rankings for the 2019 season with the University of Utah men's tennis program landing at No. 42.
It is the third time in the last four seasons that the Utes have been in the final ITA rankings and the second time in those four seasons that Utah has ranked in the top-50.
Utah also had a pair of singles players earn top-100 final rankings with
Dan Little earning a No. 45 ranking and
David Micevski coming it at No. 93. It is the first time Utah has had two players earn final top-100 rankings in the same season since 2012 with Slim Hamza (No. 73) and Dmytro Mamedov (No. 89).
The Utes finished the season 17-12 overall in dual play with head coach
Roeland Brateanu earning ITA Mountain Region Coach of the Year for the third straight season and Little earning ITA Mountain Region Senior Player of the Year. Little became the first Ute to qualify for the NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Singles Championships since 2007 this season.
Little finished the season with 15 dual wins, including six over ranked opponents at the No. 1 singles position. Micevski played at the No. 2 position, racking up 13 singles wins that included key victories in Pac-12 regular season play where he went undefeated in his finished matches. Â
