Cross Country Releases 2019 Schedule

SALT LAKE CITY – The University of Utah women's cross country team released its 2019 schedule, head coach Kyle Kepler announced on Wednesday. Utah's 2019 schedule is highlighted by one home meet, a pair of in-state meets, a trip to Notre Dame, while also hosting the 2019 NCAA Mountain Regional Championships.
"This is a national-caliber schedule that will provide the opportunities we need to challenge our very talented group of young women as they strive to return to the NCAA Championships," said Kepler. "We look forward to hosting the NCAA Mountain Region Championship, that will take place at Rose Park Golf Course, for the first time since 2010 and putting on a first-class event for our student-athletes."
The Utes will open the season on Aug. 31, competing in the Utah Valley Invite. The Utes then travel north to Twin Falls, Idaho, to compete in the College of Southern Idaho Invitational, which takes place that next week on Sept. 6.
Utah will break for nearly a month before competing in its next event, the Joe Paine Invitational, which will be hosted by Notre Dame and take place on Oct. 4. The following week the Utes stay local to the state and head to Cedar City to run in the Color Country Invite (Oct. 12), but then head back out of state the next week to compete in the Nuttycombe Invitational in Madison, Wisc. (Oct. 18).
Utah closes out the regular-season hosting the Utah Open at Sunnyside Park on Oct. 25, and will then head to Corvallis, Ore., the following weekend to compete in the Pac-12 Championships, which are slated to be held on Nov. 1.
Just a few weeks later, Utah will host the NCAA Mountain Regional Championships on Nov. 15., at Rose Park Golf Course. This will mark the 17th time in school history to host the regional meet. The NCAA Championships will be held in Terre Haute, Ind., on Nov. 23. The event will take place at the LaVern Gibson Course.
