My Beginning
I can't really think back to a time where football wasn't a part of my life. It has been instilled in me since birth. I grew up around it.
We did stupid stuff as a kid, like play tackle football in the street. We would get road burn from tackling each other, but it was super fun.
My dad played in the Pac-12 and then for New Orleans for a little bit. My older brother was always watching it and then as a kid, we would go out and play football in the streets. The streets are where I spent my childhood, but the water is where my heart is.
I'm from a small city called San Pedro. Not a lot of people know where that is so basically, you go to Los Angeles and take the 110 freeway until you hit the water. It is a little surfer town and I grew up with a lot of Italians, Croatians and Portuguese people. All we would do is play in the streets with your friends or go to the beach. That is my whole life, just being by the water, that is my happy place.
