Capalbo Falls on Day One of the ITA Fall National

SAN DIEGO – Franco Capalbo of the Utah men's tennis opened play on Thursday at the ITA National Fall Championships.

He faced Andrew Rogers of Pepperdine in the first round of the tournament. In the first round, Capalbo took the first set against Rogers, 6-4. However, Rogers responded in the second set and defeated Capalbo 6-3.

The match came down to a third and final set. Capalbo came up short in the third and was defeated by Rogers 6-1.

Capalbo returns to action on Friday when he takes on Tad Maclean of Auburn in the consolation draw. The match is slated to start at 12:30 p.m. MT at the Barnes Tennis Center.
