Tank Finishes 13th at European Championships

Former Utah cross country All-American Poppy Tank finished 13th overall at the European Cross Country Championships.
TURIN, Italy – Former Utah cross country All-American Poppy Tank helped guide Great Britain & Northern Ireland to a second-place finish at the European Cross Country Championships on Sunday at La Mandria Park with a 13th-place finish as the third and final scorer for her team.
Tank finished the arduous 7662-meter course that looped through some steep hills as well as a museum with a time of 27:44 to beat out fellow teammate Jessica Gibbons at the line in the final 500 meters. Tank was in 25th at the first marker (608m) before slowly moving up the ranks to her eventual finish at 13th.
Team Great Britain & Northern Ireland finished with 30 points while Germany came away with the team title with just nine points followed by Ireland with 50 points. Great Britain & Northern Ireland came away with 10 total medalist among the different race categories with a five golds, four silvers and a bronze.
