Utah Football Set To Take The Stage At 2023 Pac-12 Media Day Friday

LAS VEGAS – The Utah Football Program will be front and center under the bright lights of Las Vegas this week for the 2023 Pac-12 Football Media Day on Friday, July 21, hosted by Resorts World with all-day coverage on Pac-12 Network.
Utah will be represented by captains Cameron Rising and Cole Bishop, along with head coach Kyle Whittingham as the back-to-back Pac-12 champions preview the 2023 season.
THE BASICS
Lights, camera, action will be the theme in Las Vegas on Friday with the players and coaches taking part in photo shoots and video promotions, along with a full media circuit featuring local, regional and national media.
The defending champs are first up on the main stage, starting at 9:45 a.m. as Whittingham, Rising and Bishop take questions from Pac-12 talent Ashley Adamson and Yogi Roth, followed by a Q&A with the media.

Fans will be able to follow along with the action on Pac-12 Network, Pac-12 Insider, the Pac-12 Now app and on Pac-12.com. REPRESENTING THE UTES
Rising, a two-time All-Pac-12 selection, will be at media day for the second straight year after the Ventura, Calif., native led the Utes to their second Pac-12 title. He has played in 27 career games with 25 starts, currently tied for fifth all-time at Utah in starting quarterback wins with 18.
In 2022, Rising was 249-of-385 passing (8 INT, 26 TD) for 3,034 yards, adding 77 rushes for 465 yards and six rushing scores. He ended the year ranked in the top-10 in ESPN's QBR Rating, earning Pac-12 All-Conference honorable mention and was also named the MVP of the 2022 Pac-12 Championship game.
Bishop enters his junior season with 24 career games and 19 starts, ranking second among active Pac-12 secondary players in career tackles per game (5.7). He was named All-Pac-12 honorable mention in 2021 and 2022, leading the team in tackles last season with 83 (6.0 TFL, 1.5 sacks) while adding four passes defended, an interception and a fumble recovery.
Whittingham is beginning his 19th season at the helm for the Utes, holding an overall record of 154-74 as the all-time wins leader at Utah. He is the second-longest tenured head coach at the same school in the NCAA FBS and the longest-tenured coach in the Pac-12.
CAMP KYLE
With the season being right around the corner, the Utes will begin fall camp on Monday, July 31. All camp practices are closed to the public. For a complete list of 2023 preseason recognitions, click here.
SEASON OPENER
The Utes will open 2023 at home, hosting the Florida Gators on Thursday, Aug. 31 in Rice-Eccles Stadium at 6 p.m. MT on ESPN. The game against the Gators will be a Red Out with fans encouraged to ear red.
Utah is 13-1 in the Whittingham era when starting a season on a weekday with Utah's game against Florida being its first Thursday game since 2021 when the Utes beat Weber State, 40-17. Utah has sold out Rice-Eccles Stadium in 76 consecutive games, dating back to the 2010 season opener.
