Pac-12 Names Bouwmeester Special Teams Player of the Week

Utah punter sailed four of his six punts for 50-plus yards vs. Florida
SAN FRANCISCO – Utah sophomore punter Jack Bouwmeester has been named Pac-12 Special Teams Player of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday. It is Bouwmeester's first career weekly award from the Pac-12.

The native of Bendigo, Australia punted six times (average 51.8 yards) with a career-long of 64 yards during Utah's win over Florida. Four of his punts went for 50 yards or longer, three landed inside the Florida 20-yard line and one went for a touchback.

He became the first Utah punter since 2014 to have multiple 60-yard punts in a game. Bouwmeester sent his first attempt of the second half 61 yards, all the way to the Florida 8-yard line. Later in the third quarter and standing in his own end zone, Bouwmeester boomed a career-long 64-yarder. It was the longest punt in the Pac-12 during Week 1 and longest by a Ute since 2018.

On another punt midway through the second quarter, Bouwmeester looked to have pinned Florida inside its 5-yard line. But the attempt was washed out due to a penalty that awarded a first down to Utah.
