SALT LAKE CITY – The University of Utah Men's Golf team signed four golfers on National Signing Day on Wednesday, the largest class since 2021. The class consists of a variety of golfers as Toa Ofahengaue and Lance Loughton are local Utahns while Jan Farré Arino and Iván Enguita Alonso join the Utes from Spain.
"This is a fantastic class for us," said head coach
Garrett Clegg. "We're bringing in two international players and we sign two local kids that will be serving missions and be back in the fall of 2027."
Iván Enguita Alonso – Zaragoza, Spain – IES Ortega y Gasset
Enguita is one of two Spanish golfers signing with the Utes' and heading to Salt Lake City from Zaragoza. This year, Enguita won the VII Copa Federacion De Golf De Castilla Leon and then topped the leaderboard for the Copa La Galea to close out the summer. To add to his achievements, Enguita received an award from the Aragón State Golf Federation for Athletic Achievement this year.
"Iván has been committed here for over a year and is a powerful golfer," said Clegg. "We first saw him compete in the summer of 2022 in Europe. He has a fantastic short game to go along with his power that will help him compete for a traveling spot the day he arrives on campus."

Jan Farré Arino – Agramunt, Spain – Institut Centre d'Alt Rendiment Esportiu
Farré Arino signs with the Utes as the second Spaniard in the Clegg's class, joining out of Argamunt. In prior tournaments, Farré Arino took the title for the Spanish National Puntuable in 2023. In many impressive tournaments, The Spain-native finished second at the 2024 Copa Andalusia and the Spanish Championship FFAA.

Ofahengaue has seen golf at a high level throughout his pre-collegiate career, participating with his brother KJ in the Underrated Golf Tour in 2023, which included the Curry Cup hosted by NBA star Stephen Curry.
