NEW ORLEANS – Utah cross country's
Erin Vringer,
Anna Peters and
Morgan Jensen garnered USTFCCCA All-Region accolades on Monday after the trio posted top-25 finishes last Friday at the NCAA Mountain Regionals.
This marks the third-straight season the Women of Utah have had three runners earn all-region honors and the sixth time overall as a program.
Vringer, who redshirted last cross country season, picked up the first all-region award of her career after leading the Utes with a 12th-place finish (20:11.9) at the mountain regionals. The Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada product led the Utes in every major race this season with a trio of top-10 marks.
Peters continues to shine as a sophomore, recording a pair of top-10 finishes and a pair of top-20 marks – including a 13th-place finish (20:12.1) at the mountain regionals this season to garner her second USTFCCCA All-Region honors in as many years.
Jensen, a local Utah product out of Sandy, placed 21st (20:15.9) at the mountain regionals last week to earn her second-straight USTFCCCA All-Region award.
The duo of Jensen and Peters joins Poppy Tank (2016-17), Hannah McInturff (2016-16) and Amanda Mergaert (2010-12) as the only Utes to earn all-region awards back-to-back seasons.
Utah is set to race in its third-straight NCAA Championships and seventh time overall on Saturday, Nov. 23, beginning at 8:20 a.m. (MST) / 9:20 a.m. (CST) local on ESPNU at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Course.
