The University of Utah Football program is officially under 200 days until the 2024 season begins on Thursday, Aug. 29 against the Southern Utah Thunderbirds with spring practices set to begin in March.
Entering a new era for Utah Football and Utah Athletics this season with joining the Big 12 Conference, the Utes are primed for another electric season – especially on offense with the return of captain Cameron Rising.
After suffering an injury in the Rose Bowl at the end of the 2022 season, it has now been 409 days since Rising has played in a football game for the Utes. Utah fans and college football fans are eager for his return with the Heisman hopeful ready to hit the gridiron for the Utes for one final season.
As spring ball draws closer, UtahUtes.com will breakdown the spring roster, position-by-position, starting with the 2024 running backs and quarterbacks.

RETURNING UTES
QB1 is set to return in 2024 with Rising taking on the Big 12. He enters the season with 18 career wins at Utah, which is tied for fifth all-time, playing in 27 games with 25 starts.
Brandon Rose and Luke Bottari will join Rising after spending the last two seasons in the quarterback room alongside him. Rose suffered a season-ending injury in fall camp last season and is ready to make an impact this year after coming to the Utes as a pro-style QB out of Murrieta Valley.
Bottari transferred to Utah in 2022 after setting the school record for College of San Mateo in career passing touchdowns (46). He earned his first start as a Ute in 2023, leading Utah to victory in the last regular season game of the year against Colorado, scoring two rushing touchdowns.
At running back, Micah Bernard will be looking for his first full season since 2022, entering this year with 39 career games with 12 starts (11 at RB, 1 at CB). The Utes got to see a spark in the first and last games of last season, scoring rushing touchdowns against Florida and Northwestern after missing the middle 11 games due to an injury.
Adding to Utah's tradition of depth at the running back position is Jaylon Glover, who has seen action in 22 games as a Ute with 922 rushing yards and six touchdowns. In 2023, he recorded his first-career 100-yard rushing game with 107 yards against Colorado.
NEWCOMER NOTES
One of the most anticipated newcomers of the spring will hit the field in March with Isaac Wilson beginning his career as a Ute. He is a four-star recruit out of Corner Canyon, earning Mr. Football honors by the Deseret News.
Anthony Woods will also be a key addition for the Utes at running back in 2024, coming to Salt Lake City from the University of Idaho. He played in 24 career games at Idaho, recording 2,027 rushing yards (5.7 ypc) and 19 touchdowns, earning All-Big Sky first-team in 2023.
