The Utah men's tennis team is set to for another couple of matches in New Mexico. On Saturday, Feb. 10 the Utes take on the Louisiana Ragin' Cajun, followed by a match against the New Mexico Lobos on Sunday, Feb. 11.

LAST TIME OUT
The Utes crossed off two matches from their schedule after facing Denver and UTSA last weekend. Utah dropped the match against Denver on Friday and finished 4-1 against UTSA on Saturday. The squad is currently 2-0 in doubles against UTSA after securing the point in both of the matches this season.
HEAD COACH ROELAND BRATEANU
Utah Head Coach
Roeland Brateanu, reigning Pac-12 Coach of the Year, leads the Utes for his tenth season this spring. Under Brateanu's guidance, the Utah men claimed the Pac-12 Champions title as well as the ITA Mountain Region Champions title last spring.
THE UTES
The Utah roster is comprised of seven returning players.
Geronimo Espin Busleiman returns to compete for the Utes at the No. 1 spot after an impressive 2023 spring season.
Berk Bugarikj, another returnee, starts his second season with the Utes after finishing with an ITA No. 1 ranking in doubles for the Mountain Region last season.
Bruno Krenn also returns for the Utes, claiming his first victory at the No. 2 spot in the season opener.
Twins Jayson and
Michael Blando return for their third season with the squad, currently holding a 3-2 doubles record at the No. 2 spot.
Geremia Rossi also makes a comeback to the team for the third time this spring season, currently a 3-1 doubles match record at the No. 3 spot with partner
Dylan Applegate. This is Applegate's second season with the Utes.
Gianluca Citadini is the single newcomer for the Utah team. The Argentinian national reached as high as No. 139 on the ITF Junior World Rankings and is a Grade 1 National Tournament Champion in Argentina. Citadini claimed his first regular-season collegiate win in the No. 5 spot at Utah's season opener and is currently 1-1 in singles play.
SCOUTING LOUISIANA
The Ragin' Cajuns are currently 2-5 this season. Their victories include matches against UTRGV resulting in a 4-0 win for Louisiana, and Texas A&M resulting in another 4-0 sweep. The doubles team consisting of Al Sanchez Gonzales and Sacha Grandvincent is currently undefeated 2-0, along with Vasil Dimitrov and Oriol Fillat Gimenez with a 1-0 doubles record. Saturday's match will be the first meeting between the Utes and the Cajuns.
SCOUTING NEW MEXICO
The New Mexico Lobos are currently at a 2-2 record. The team has secured victories against East Tennessee State and South Alabama with scores 7-0 and 6-1, respectively. The Utes are 8-12 against New Mexico, with a three-match win streak most recently. The last time the teams met was during the 2023 spring season at the George S. Eccles Tennis Center in Salt Lake City, resulting in a 4-3 win for Utah.
