Averaging 5.6 tackles, 1.5 TFL and 1.0 sack per game during Big 12 Conference play.
Shares the Big 12 lead with two forced fumbles, after becoming the first Utah player since 2017 with strip sacks in back-to-back games (at Wyoming, vs. Texas Tech).
Set a career-best with seven tackles during the win over West Virginia.
Has totaled 68 sack yards this season, three away from entering the top 10 on the Utah single-season leaderboard.
The Lott IMPACT Trophy presented by Allied Universal is the only major defensive college football award that considers character. Named after former NFL Hall of Fame star Ronnie Lott, The Lott Trophy annually goes to the Defensive IMPACT Player of the Year, college football's top defensive player who has had the biggest impact on his team both on and off the field. Â
Â
IMPACT stands for Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community and Tenacity, all characteristics exhibited by Lott during his illustrious playing career.
Â
The annual winner will be announced in December and is selected by a national voter panel, consisting of former winners, members of the media, coaches, and members of the Board of Directors of The IMPACT Foundation.
