Overall thoughts on the game . . .
"I was really proud of our fight and how we started the game today. We were very dialed in, focused and played with intensity. They made their run in the second quarter and we answered but for whatever reason we let the third quarter get away from us. We kept battling and fought to the bitter end. I expect nothing else from our team. Washington is a great program. They're going to be in the NCAA Tournament. It was a great test for us early in the season. We have to play and buy into what we're trying to do as a team collectively for 40 minutes. Tonight was a great taste of intensity and the type of 40 minutes we're going to have to put together to win Big 12 games. I'm eager to get back to the drawing board and hit the ground running with these guys before playing our next game."
On bouncing back and looking forward . . .
"I think we've got to get used to playing in these types of games and these types of environments. We've got to stick together. The tendency is to go into your own silo and self diagnose, but it's about the team. We are earning the right to play and you do that in practice. You have to earn trust, you have to be able to do things on a consistent level and a consistent basis. We're going to have to circle up, regroup, and get ready for the next game. We lost one game to a Top 25 team. Great. It exposes what we need to work on, what steps are needed for us to put 40 minutes together. Basketball is fun and we just need to get back to finding the joy in it."
UP NEXT
Utah will hit the road to play in the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame Showcase where they will take on Syracuse Nov. 21 and No. 1 UConn Nov. 23. The Utes return to the Huntsman Center on Nov. 26 to face off against in-state foe Weber State at 7 p.m.
