SALT LAKE CITY – The University of Utah men's tennis head coach,
Roeland Brateanu has officially announced the signing of Balthazar Huss, an incoming freshman set to join the Utes in January for the upcoming 2026 season.
"Balthazar is a great prospect and has tremendous growth potential," Brateanu said. "He has big goals, he's a hard worker, has weapons and is athletic. Overall, a great addition to our program and we look forward to starting work with him in a little over a month."
Huss won seven ITF junior titles that included three singles and four doubles titles. His best ITF Juniors ranking was No. 248. He was No. 1 ranked in Denmark U14 and No. 4 ranked in Germany U18 national rankings.
"I have chosen to be a Ute because I felt an immediate connection with both the assistant coach and the head coach," Huss said. "I really appreciate their approach to training and the way they see and live tennis, not just as a sport but as a continuous process of development. I also value the way they treat me and communicate with me. It made me feel respected, supported and motivated to grow both as a player and a person."
