Utah Ends Weekend with 4-2 Win Over Portland

SEATTLE – The University of Utah men's tennis team ended the weekend in Seattle with a 4-2 win over Portland.

DOUBLES
Utah started the match off strong by capturing the doubles point. Ute duo Emmett Potter and Max Relic started things off with a 6-3 win at the No. 2 spot over Tannor Binder and Lucas Kimelman. Nicolas Calixto and Berk Bugarikj clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 win over Tom Garcia and Nikola Keremedchiev in the No. 3 spot.

Reid Jarvis and Dante Teramo were up 5-4 in their doubles match before it went unfinished.

SINGLES
Utah kept the momentum up in singles action. Calixto started it off with a 6-2, 6-2 win at the No. 6 spot. Bugarikj followed that up with a 6-2, 6-4 win in the No. 1 spot over Maxim Groysman to give Utah a 3-0 advantage overall in the match.

Portland was able to pick up wins in the No. 2 and No. 3 spots in the line up to bring the overall match score to 3-2. Teramo clinched the match in the No. 4 spot as he defeated Kimelman 6-2, 7-5.

Jarvis won his first set 6-4 and was up 2-0 in his tiebreak in the second set before the match went unfinished.
