Utes End ITA Kickoff Weekend with 4-0 Loss to Ducks

PALO ALTO, Calif. – The Utah men's tennis team closed out the ITA Kickoff weekend with a 4-0 loss to Oregon Saturday morning.
The Ducks picked up wins at the No. 2 and No. 1 spots claiming the doubles point advantage.
In singles play, Oregon picked up wins in the No. 4, No. 2 and No. 5 spots to clinch the win.
At the No. 3 spot, Lorenzo Esquici won his first set 6-2 and was up 5-4 in his second set before remaining unfinished. Freshman, AJ Deem won his first set 6-4 and was up 4-3 in his second before it was left unfinished at the No. 6 spot.
Dante Teramo dropped his first set and was up 5-4 in his second on the brink of forcing a third before it was also left unfinished.
Utah is now 0-2 overall on the season.
UP NEXT
The Utes will host Idaho State Thursday, Jan. 29 before hosting NAU Sunday, Feb. 1. Utah will then hit the road to take on Denver and Montana in Denver Feb. 6-7.
