ITA Scholar Athlete ... Defeated Sebastian Hawken of No. 39 Washington, 7-6, 6-2 and 1-6, 6-3, 6-3 at the Pac-12 Tournament … topped Luke Bohuslav of No. 67 Loyola Marymount, 6-1, 6-3 … defeated Oliver Plaskett of Arizona, 6-1, 6-4 … picked up wins over players from UNLV, Penn, New Mexico State, DePaul and Weber State… won two matches at the 2015 USTA/ITA Men’s Mountain Regional Championship over players from Montana and Weber State … won four singles matches at the Utah Invitational Tournament over players from Weber State and Montana State … also picked up a pair of wins against two Air Force competitors … in doubles play, paired with Dan Little to beat Jacob Sullivan & Aidan Carrazedo of No. 61 BYU at the USTA/ITA Men's Mountain Regional Championship, 8-6 … won three matches with Jamey Swiggart at the Utah Invitational Tournament … also earned victories against a team from DePaul and a Pac-12 win over Will Addison and Naomi Takeda of Arizona … teamed with Matt Cowley for a win against a duo from South Alabama
Sophomore (2014-15):
Compiled a 13-8 singles record playing at the No. 1, 2, 3, and 4 position ... Partnered up with Jamey Swiggart, Matt Cowley, Slim Hamza and compiled an 8-5 doubles record.
Prior to Utah:
McGuiness joins the Utes after playing at North Carolina State for one season where he finished with a 6-4 mark in singles and a 5-3 ledger in doubles ... earned his first collegiate singles victory against Chris Humphreys of Elon, 6-3, 6-2 ... captured his first ACC victory against Grayson Goldin of Florida State from the No. 6 position, 6-2, 5-7, 6-2 ... finished with a 5-2 mark in the dual-match season from the No. 4, 5 and 6 singles positions ... in his first collegiate tournament, advanced to the round of 16 with Simon Norenius in doubles at the ITA Carolina Regional.
