Played in 43 games (41 starts), splitting time between catcher, third base, DH and first base.
Did not strike out in his first 49 collegiate at bats, at the time making Gurney the nation’s toughest freshman to fan.
Hit .279 on the year with six doubles, four home runs, 31 RBI, 14 walks and 23 runs scored.
Ranked fifth on the team and led freshmen with 31 RBI.
His eight multi-RBI games were tied for third-most on the team.
Doubled and scored twice in the series-opening win vs. Washington State (April 28).
