Quincy Watkins is entering his second season with Utah Football as a defensive graduate assistant, working primary with the safeties. Watkins is key in developing scouting reports, studying opponent film and getting the scout team prepared each week.
Prior to his time at Utah, Watkins was a football and track coach in the Salt Lake City School District, helping student-athletes learn strategy on the football field while also developing physical skills to succeed. During that time, he also served as a Special Education teacher where he helped plan activities while teaching and mentoring students in his class.
Watkins was a two-year letter winner at Utah from 2000-02, earning Special Teams Player of the Game against UNLV, Air Force and Wyoming. He was also the MAFU (Mental Toughness, Aggressiveness, Fanatical Effort and Unity) Award winner on the way to the Utes winning the 2001 Las Vegas Bowl.
Watkins graduated from Utah with a degree in general studies, also completing a Master’s in human development and family studies in 2018.
