David Calderon Serves as a Learning Specialist at the University of Utah, where he continues his passion of supporting student athletes holistically. Â
Â
Originally from Southern California, David earned his bachelor’s degree in history from California State University Northridge. He is a former football student-athlete. He continued his academic journey at the University of Southern California where he is pursuing a master’s degree in Postsecondary Administration and Student Affairs. David spent two years as a Special education Paraprofessional at Los Angeles Unified School District and one year as an Assistant Learning Specialist at the University of Southern California, crafting his skills within student development and individualized learning.Â

David brings a holistic mind and approach building his professional foundation from his own experience as a student athlete as well as his prior experience with student-athlete caseloads. Â
In his free time David enjoys grilling, watching sports, and traveling. Â
