SALT LAKE CITY - Utah forward Kim Smith is one of five freshmen nationally to be named a first-team Freshman All-American by WomensCollegeHoops.Com.
The team is composed of those players that performed the best at their position and also had a major positive impact on their team on both ends of the court.
Earlier this year, Smith was one of four freshmen nationally to be named a Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) honorable mention All-American. Smith was also named the Mountain West Conference Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year -- the first time in MWC history that the same player received both honors.
Smith, who reached double figures scoring in all but one game, ranked in the top ten in the MWC in eight statistical categories and led Utah in scoring, rebounding, field goals made, field goal percentage, three-point field goals made, three-point field goal percentage and free throws made.
