SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic - The Canadian Women's National Team defeated Argentina 62-57, to move on to the semifinals of the Pan American Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
Utah sophomore-to-be Kim Smith had a double-double -- 13 points and a team-high 10 rebounds -- in the victory. Canada dominated the glass, out-rebounding Argentina 40-19.
Canada will face Cuba (4-1) in the semifinals at 7 p.m. (EDT) on Friday, Aug. 8, while Brazil and the United States will meet at 5 p.m.
