CULIACAN, Mexico - Utah sophomores Kim Smith and Shona Thorburn captured bronze medals at the 2003 FIBA Americas Olympic Qualifying Tournament today with a 71-34 win over Mexico.

Thorburn finished the game with five points, five rebounds and four assists. Smith added three rebounds and two points.

Team Canada finished third in the tournament with a 3-2 record. The team fell to Brazil yesterday in the semifinals, thus eliminating the Canadians from contention for the 2004 Olympic Games.
