SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah women's basketball team will get one last dress rehearsal before the 2004-05 regular season Saturday at the Huntsman Center. The Utes will host the National Women's Basketball League Elite team in a 3 p.m. tipoff. The game will follow a Utah men's basketball exhibition game against Western State College, which begins at Noon.
The Utah women opened the exhibition slate with a 70-41 victory over Baden Sports on Nov. 2. Ute head women's basketball coach Elaine Elliott has been pleased with her squad's effort since the first exhibition.
"Practice has been generally good, with good focus and energy," Elliott said. "We just have a lot of new players with a lot to learn and the need to grow. We're looking forward to Saturday, as it will give us a different look from which to evaluate and learn."
Utah opens the regular season Nov. 19, hosting No. 7-ranked Stanford in a 6 p.m. contest at the Huntsman Center.
