Salt Lake City - The USA Today/ ESPN/ Women's Basketball Coaches Association Preseason Top 25 was released today. The Utah women were among the teams receiving votes.
Utah garnered 83 points, just two spots out of the Top 25. The Utes' season-opening opponent, Stanford, was ranked No. 7. Utah's third opponent, Michigan State, is ranked No. 16. Another early-season opponent, Oklahoma, was ranked No. 25. Georgia, a potential opponent at the Rainbow Wahine Classic in Honolulu, Hawaii later this month, was ranked No. 5.
The USA Today/ESPN Board of Coaches, which votes on the weekly poll, is made up of 40 head coaches at NCAA Division I institutions. All are members of the WBCA.
