SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah women's basketball team will play its second and final exhibition game of the season Tuesday, hosting Baden Sports in a 7 p.m. contest at the Huntsman Center.
Baden Sports features three former Utah players and a number of other players Utah fans have seen action against the Utes.
Former members of Elaine Elliott's squad making a return trip to the Huntsman Center include Lori (Red) Castegnetto, Lindsay Herbert and Carley Marshall. Castegnetto finished her Utah playing career in 2000, while Herbert's last season was 2002 and Marshall played her senior season in 2004.
Brooke Hansen, who played for Weber State last season, is also a member of the Baden Sports squad. The Utes saw Gonzaga graduate Raeanna Jewell in a contest last season in Spokane. Former UNLV player Kristen Pool is also on the roster. Former WNBA player Stacy Clinesmith is also playing for Baden Sports this exhibition season.
No. 21-ranked Utah defeated Montana-Western 86-57 Thursday night in its exhibition opener. Kim Smith led the Utes with 24 points and nine rebounds in just 26 minutes of playing time. Shona Thorburn added 17 points and eight assists in 25 minutes. All 14 Utah players saw action in the victory and 10 Utes reached the scoring column.
The regular season opens Nov. 19, when the Utes host Jacksonville (Ala.) State in a 3 p.m. contest at the Huntsman Center.
