SALT LAKE CITY -- Utah women's basketball players Kim Smith and Shona Thorburn each earned All-America honors from Full Court Press earlier this week. The junior duo were both named to the third team.

Smith and Thorburn were the only Mountain West Conference players to earn recognition from Full Court Press. The two shared the MWC's Player of the Year award earlier this year. For Smith, it was her third straight conference player of the year award, while it was Thorburn's first.
Smith led the MWC in scoring and rebounding in 2004-05, while also earning First-Team All-Mountain West Conference accolades. Thorburn was the league leader in assists and was also a first-team All-MWC honoree.
Smith was also an honorable mention All-America selection on both the Kodak/WBCA and Associated Press teams. Thorburn earned honorable mention on the Kodak/WBCA All-America team.
Utah was 26-8 overall in 2004-05, won a share of the Mountain West Conference championship and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
