DENVER, Colo. -- The Western Athletic Conference recently announced its 15-Year All-WAC women's basketball teams, as determined by a fan vote on the conference's website. The first team included former University of Utah great Julie Krommenhoek.
Krommenhoek is Utah's all-time scoring leader. She finished her career with 2,087 points (1994-98). Krommenhoek ranks fifth all-time in the WAC in scoring average, with 17.8 points per game. She was the WAC Mountain Division Player of the Year in 1996-97 and also earned Honorable Mention All-America honors during that season. Krommenhoek was the 1995 WAC Freshman of the Year.
Krommenhoek led the nation in three-point field goals made per game in 1997-98, averaging 3.6 per contest. She also holds the WAC career record for free-throw percentage at .851.
Joining Krommenhoek on the first team were Marla Brumfeield of Rice, Louisiana Tech's Cheryl Ford, Colorado State's Becky Hammon and Karlin Kennedy of SMU. The second team was made up of Trina Frierson (La. Tech), Raylene Howard (Hawaii), Teresa James (Colorado State), Cricket Williams (San Jose State) and Falisha Wright (San Diego State).
