Utah Heads for Las Vegas Saturday
The University of Utah women's basketball team has won three straight Mountain West Conference games since opening league play 0-2. The Utes own a 12-4 overall record and a 3-2 mark in the MWC.
Utah will be looking for its fourth consecutive victory Saturday night in Las Vegas. The Utes will face the UNLV Rebels at Cox Pavillion. UNLV enters the contest with a record of 11-4 overall and 3-1 in the conference.
UNLV is the first team with a winning conference record that Utah has faced since dropping a last-second, 61-60 decision to BYU back on Jan. 7.
The Rebels are coming off a 67-62 victory at Colorado State on Wednesday night. Sheena Moore scored 26 points for the Rebels in that contest. Sequoia Holmes added 15, while Faye Muller tacked on 13 points and a team-high eight boards. UNLV's lone conference loss was a 77-58 decision at league-leading BYU.
The Rebels are led by Moore's 13.9 points per game, while Sherry McCracklin also averages in double figures at 10.6 ppg. Muller is the top rebounder (7.3 rpg).
