UTES WRAP UP SPRING BALL
The Ute football team will conclude its spring drills this week with the fourth-annual Red-White game on Saturday, April 22 at 1 p.m. in Rice-Eccles Stadium (see Red-White Game for more information). The final three practices of the spring will also be held this week. The location of practice on Tuesday (3:00-5:00), Thursday (3:00-5:00) and Friday (4:20-5:20) will be determined by the weather. If the practice fields are dry, they are the first choice. In case of rain, snow or wet ground, practice will be at Rice-Eccles Stadium. In the event of severe weather, training will move inside the Spence Eccles Field House.

NOTES
Due to injuries, the Utes won't be able to field two full teams in the spring game, so some players will pull double duty. Exactly who will wear both jerseys will be a game-day decision ... Ute linebacker Joe Jianonni (mid-foot sprain on his left foot) will have surgery on Tuesday, April 18 ... Other starters who will miss the spring game due to injury: Eric Weddle (hamstring), Brian Johnson (knee), Brian Hernandez (ankle), Steve Tate (shoulder), Soli Lefiti (shoulder), Eric Pettit (back) ... Coach Kyle Whittingham plans to limit the plays of some other starters as well, among them Casey Evans, Kelly Talavou and Martail Burnett ... sophomore John Peel has moved from receiver to safety and is doing very well ... Bradon Godfrey, who had to sit out last season as a transfer (Southern Utah), has impressed at receiver this spring.
