Weddle Earns Another Preseason All-America Nod

SALT LAKE CITY -- University of Utah senior defensive back has been named a Preseason All-American by Athlon Sports. Athlon's annual college football magazine will be available in stores on June 5. In addition to naming Weddle a Preseason All-American, the Western region cover will feature him on the cover.
Weddle, the reigning MWC Defensive Player of the Year, is named a first team All-American and first team all-MWC. Safety Casey Evans and offensive lineman Tavo Tupola are named first team all-MWC. Brent Casteel is also named first team all-conference as a kick returner and second team all-MWC as a wide receiver.
Quarterback Brett Ratliff and defensive lineman Kelly Talavou are named second team all-MWC. Defensive lineman Martail Burnett is named third team all-MWC. Athlon ranked Utah's recruiting class second-beat in the Mountain West and defensive tackle Joe Failili is rated the No. 3 recruit in the MWC.
Athlon Sports predicts Utah to finish second in the Mountain West Conference and ranks the Utes at No. 23 in its preseason Top 25. All the above information can be found at www.athlonsports.com.
