Utah, BYU to Clash for MWC Lead Saturday
The University of Utah women's basketball team hosts Brigham Young University at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Jon M. Huntsman Center. The Utes and Cougars are the only remaining undefeated teams in Mountain West Conference play. Both teams come into the contest with a 6-0 league mark.
Utah is 13-6 overall. The Utes are coming off an 80-59 win over Air Force last Saturday. Kalee Whipple and Marie Warner combined to score 41 points off the bench in the Utes' win.
BYU comes into Saturday's contest after defeating San Diego State 54-49 in San Diego Thursday night. Dani Wright paced the Cougars with 12 points, while Mallary Gillespie added 10 against the Aztecs.
BYU won the matchup in SLC last year. But Utah returned the favor in Provo and beat the Cougars in the MWC Tournament title game.

Sophomore guard Morgan Warburton (Helper, Utah) has scored in double figures in 16 of Utah's 19 games this season. She is the team's leading scorer, averaging 15.1 points per game, which also ranks sixth in the Mountain West Conference. But Warburton has stepped up her game since the beginning of league play. She is averaging 16.3 points per game in Mountain West action, which is the top mark in the conference. Warburton also ranks No. 3 in assists per game since the beginning of the league schedule.
