Warburton Named MWC Co-Player of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Utah sophomore guard Morgan Warburton and TCU junior guard Adrianne Ross have been named the Mountain West Conference Women's Basketball Co-Players of the Week. Warburton receives her second honor of the season and her career, while Ross earns her first career honor.
Warburton, from Helper, Utah, tied a career-high with 25 points in the Utes' 64-54 win over BYU in a battle for the top spot in the league standings. She scored 15 points in the first half, leading Utah to a narrow 28-24 lead at the break. She was 8-for-9 from the charity stripe, making all eight free throws in the second half, including four in the final 44 seconds. With 21 seconds remaining in the game, Warburton scored a breakaway layup to help secure the win.
On the week, Warburton was 7-for-14 (.500), including 3-for-7 (.429) from beyond the arc. She also posted six rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block.
Ross posted the first double-double of her career and was two assists shy of a triple-double with 16 points, a career-best 11 rebounds and a career-high-tying eight assists in TCU's 67-43 victory over New Mexico. The Hobbs, N.M., native sank 10-of-13 free throws en rote to becoming to ninth player in TCU history to score 1,000 points in her career. Against San Diego State, Ross had a game-high 18 points on 7-for-10 shooting to go along with three rebounds, three assists and two steals.
On the week, Ross was 10-for-24 (.417) from the floor and 13-for-19 from the free-throw line to average 17 points. She totaled 14 rebounds, 11 assists and seven steals.
