Utes On Road to Face Cowgirls Thursday
The University of Utah women's basketball team wraps up its first trip through the Mountain West Conference loop Thursday evening at Arena Auditorium in Laramie, Wyo. The Utes will put their undefeated league record on the line against Wyoming.
Utah is 14-6 overall and 7-0 in Mountain West action. The Utes are coming off a 64-54 win over BYU Saturday. Morgan Warburton tied a career-high with 25 points in the victory over the Cougars, which gave Utah sole possession of first place in the conference.
Wyoming comes into Thursday's contest with a four-game winning streak. The Cowgirls defeated San Diego State, TCU, Colorado State and Air Force in that stretch.
Utah has won 30 straight against Wyoming. But the Utes needed overtime last season and double OT in 2005 to win in Laramie.

Utah's 10-rebound edge against TCU on Jan. 18 marked the eighth time Utah has held a double-digit advantage on the boards this season. The Utes are also tops in the MWC in rebounding defense, giving up just 31.4 caroms a contest.
Gaining Mo-mentum
Sophomore guard Morgan Warburton (Helper, Utah) is the reigning Mountain West Conference Co-Player of the Week. Warburton tallied 25 points against BYU Saturday, tying a career-high. She has scored in double figures in 17 of Utah's 20 games this season. Warburton has now scored 20 points or more six times this season. She has really stepped up her game since the beginning of league play. She is averaging 17.6 points per game in Mountain West action, which is the top mark in the conference. Warburton is also the No. 5 free-throw shooter in the nation, hitting 91.1 percent (82-of-90) of her charity tosses.
