A Brief Look at the Series
Separated by 49 miles, it's easy to see why BYU is Utah's most familiar opponent. The Utes and Cougs have met 88 times in their storied histories, and Utah owns the 57-31 all-time lead. BYU has won the last two meetings, including a 55-49 win in the most recent meeting at the Mountain West Conference Tournament last year. Last season's contest in Provo fell BYU's way as well, 59-55. However, Utah has won eight of the last 11 tilts. The last Utah victory was a 64-54 triumph in Salt Lake City last season. The Utes' last win in Provo came in 2006, 70-52. Utah is 93-25 all-time in the Mountain West Conference, making it the all-time winningest team in the league.
