The Tipoff
The University of Utah women's basketball team (15-3 overall, 4-0 Mountain West) begins a two-game road swing this weekend, its longest of the conference season. The trip begins with a road date at TCU (10-8, 3-1 MWC) in Fort Worth, Texas, on Saturday, Jan. 26. Tipoff in the Daniel-Meyer Coliseum is set for 2 p.m. (CT). The Utes enter the game on a 10-game winning streak, and they have won 14 of their last 15 games. The last time Utah was in the loss column was back on Dec. 3 when it lost to USC, 62-45. Last time out, the Utes rallied for the three-point, 60-57, home win over New Mexico on Wednesday. TCU enters the game on a two-game winning streak. It won at New Mexico back on Jan. 15, and it topped Colorado State, 70-52, in a home tilt on Jan. 19.

Scouting the Opponent
TCU enters the contest with Utah owning a 10-8 overall record. The Horned Frogs' 3-1 league mark is good enough for third in the Mountain West Conference. They enter the game have won their last two, and five of their last six. In TCU's last outing, it upended Colorado State in Fort Worth, Texas, 70-52. The team averages 71.2 points per contest for the season, which is the top mark in the conference. Leading the team is Adrianne Ross and her 14.4 points per game. That ranked as the eighth-best average in the conference heading into action this week. Lorie Butler-Rayford is the team's top rebounder with 7.4 per game. Jeff Mittie is in his ninth season at TCU. He is 183-91 as the its head coach.
A Brief Look at the Series
Of the eight opponents in the Mountain West Conference, TCU is Utah's least familiar. The two have only locked horns nine times in their histories, and five of those have come since TCU joined the MWC back in the 2005-06 season. Utah owns the all-time series edge, 5-4. The Utes won two of the three meetings last season, winning in Salt Lake City, 72-61, in January, and in the Mountain West Conference Tournament, 68-67, in March. The Utes dropped a 74-50 decision in Fort Worth in February of last year. Utah is 95-25 all-time in the Mountain West Conference, making it the all-time winningest team in the league.
