SALT LAKE CITY -The University of Utah women's basketball program has officially cracked into the Top 25. The Utes check in at No. 20 in the Associated Press Top 25 released this afternoon. The team was two slots out of the Top-25 last week, leaping up seven spots into its current ranking.
Utah has rattled off 13 straight wins, and is sporting an 18-3 overall record. With its win over then-No. 15 Wyoming last week, it is currently atop the Mountain West Conference with a spotless 7-0 mark.
The last time Utah was ranked in the poll was in 2006. It finished No. 12 in the nation after its Elite Eight run in the NCAA Tournament.
Last week, Utah was three slots out of the ESPN/USA Today Poll. That poll will be updated on Tuesday.
The newly-ranked Utes return to action on Wednesday when they play at UNLV. Tipoff in the Cox Pavilion is set for 7 p.m. (PT).
