DENVER, Colo. - Fans of the University of Utah and the Mountain West Conference can tune in to the The MountainWest Sports Network - The Mtn. - for the most comprehensive coverage of the 2008 Phillips 66 Mountain West Conference Basketball Championships available. Beginning Tuesday, March 11, The Mtn. will air nearly 31 hours of live programming dedicated to the tournament.
In addition to televising live the four men's quarterfinal games, four women's quarterfinal games, and two women's semifinal contests for a total of 10 games, The Mtn. will produce and air 18 live shows, including The Mtn. Pre-Game Live, Fueled by Phillips 66; State Farm Halftime Live; and Sonic Post Game Live over the four days of competition surrounding the tournament. A one-hour Around the Mountain special will air from the Thomas and Mack Center Tuesday, March 11 at 7:30pm MT/6:30pm PT previewing the 2008 Phillips 66 Mountain West Conference Basketball Championships. A 60-minute episode of The Mountain View, presented by Dodge airs live from The Mtn.'s studios in Denver at 6:00pm MT/5:00pm PT on Friday, March 14, which will recap the tournament to date and preview the upcoming men's semifinals and the men's and women's finals.
Coverage of the tournament is further expanded this year with a 30-minute live pre-game show airing on The Mtn. prior to the start of the women's championship on Saturday, March 15 at 1:30pm MT/12:30pm PT. Additionally, The Mtn. will produce and broadcast a one-hour live segment - The Mtn. Pre-Game Live, presented by Collegiate Licensing Company - previewing the men's championship contest at 4:00pm MT/3:00pm PT. This live, pre-game special fronting the men's final will also be carried live by VERSUS, which is televising both the men's and women's championship games Saturday afternoon.
The Mtn. wraps up its coverage of the 2008 Phillips 66 Mountain West Conference Basketball Championships with a complete recap of the finals from earlier in the day with expanded highlights, interviews, and analysis on Saturday's live edition of The Mountain View at 11:00pm MT/10:00pm PT.
As NCAA March Madness gets underway the week of March 17, The Mtn. will be the Mountain West Conference home for special coverage of teams participating in the NCAA Tournament, NIT, and WNIT.
