SALT LAKE CITY - Utah basketball players Luke Nevill and Morgan Warburton have been named the Mountain West Conference Men's and Women's Basketball Players of the Week, respectively.
Nevill recorded his 10th double-double of the season with 23 points and a season-high tying 14 rebounds in Utah's overtime victory (89-79) at Colorado State last week. Nevill also blocked seven shots vs. the Rams, which set a new career-high and tied the Utah school-record, and included a game-saving rejection of a CSU lay-up attempt to force overtime. In the extra period, Nevill scored eight points, grabbed five rebounds and blocked one shot to secure the victory for Utah. For the game, he shot 8-for-11 from the floor (72.7 percent) and a perfect 7-for-7 from the charity stripe, including 4-for-4 in overtime.
Nevill's 14 rebounds put him at 852 for his career, making him the all-time leading rebounder in the 10-year history of the MWC. His seven blocked shots gave him 71 for the season, a new Utah single-season record, and extended his career record-holding block total to 184.
Warburton scored 27 points against Colorado State in the Utes' only game last week. She posted a team-high six assists and four steals and was second on the team with seven rebounds. Warburton had recorded 16 points by halftime and scored 11 points of Utah's 27-5 lead over the Rams in the first 10 minutes. For the game, she went 9-for-16 (.563) from field-goal range and a perfect 7-for-7 from the free-throw line.

Nevill has won MWC Player of the Week five times this season, the most by any player in the conference. He is the only player to earn the honor more than twice and one of only two multiple-week honorees. Warburton is a four-time honoree this year, which is tied with San Diego State's Paris Johnson for the most this season. She has won the award eight times in her career.
Nevill shares the honor with Wyoming's Brandon Ewing while Warburton also shares honors with San Diego State's Quenese Davis.
