BANKOK - Incoming Utah women's basketball player Taryn Wicijowski helped lead Canada to a fourth-place finish as the FBIA U19 World Championships finished on Sunday in Bankok, Thailand.
Canada began the single elimination round with an upset victory over Australia, 50-49. Wicijowski had six points and five rebounds in the win. The Canadians fell in the semifinals to the USA, 82-51, and dropped the third-place game to Argentina, 58-51. Wicijowski led all players with 10 rebounds against Argentina. She also had eight points in the contest.
Wicijowski averaged 8.3 points and 8.1 rebounds per game during the tournament.
Canada went 4-5 overall in the tournament.
