SALT LAKE CITY - Utah looks for its first win in MWC play on Tuesday against New Mexico at 8:00 p.m. MT. It is the Utes' second game on television this season, with Andrea Lloyd and Erin Bajackson providing commentary live on The Mtn. Radio is also available at KALL 700 AM.
The Utes are coming off a disappointing game against No. 25 TCU, falling 62-41 and snapping a five-game winning streak. Taryn Wicijowski led all scorers with 16 points and Janita Badon added 11 for the Utes.
New Mexico is 9-5 overall and 1-1 in the MWC this season. The Lobos began conference play with a disappointing 61-39 loss to San Diego State before downing UNLV, 63-54, on Saturday.
Amy Beggin leads New Mexico with 14.6 points per game, 44 assists and 37 three-point buckets. Lauren Taylor is also in double figure scoring with 11.7 points per game. Amanda Best and Jessica Kelpinski are each averaging 5.1 rebounds per game.
Utah leads the all-time series against New Mexico, 46-18. The series dates back to 1975. The last five games in the series (all Utah wins) have been decided by less than five points.
