Pac-10 Announces 2011-12 Women's Basketball Schedule

WALNUT CREEK, Calif.--The Pac-10 announced today the 2011-12 Pac-12 women's basketball schedules. Utah will play its first Pac-12 conference game against Colorado in the Huntsman Center on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011.
The conference schedule is comprised of 18 games for each institution, scheduled for Thursday-Saturday. Utah will play six opponents both home and away and four opponents on a single-game basis - two at home and two away. The single-play opponents will rotate every two years.
For 2011-12, Utah is scheduled to play home-and-away games with Stanford, California, Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon and Oregon State, with single dates against Washington State, Washington, UCLA and USC.
"We are pleased and excited about the schedule and we hope our fans will be energized by it as well," said Utah Director of Athletics Dr. Chris Hill. "The Thursday-Saturday playing schedule simplifies things for our fans and is advantageous academically for our players, because they won't miss as much class time as they have in recent years. This will be one of the most challenging schedules in Utah basketball history, not just with the Pac-12 teams but with several quality non-conference opponents as well, including our rivalry game with BYU."
While opponents have been established, game dates may be adjusted for television.
Utah is 60-59 all-time against Pac-12 members. The Utes will face Stanford and Washington in non-conference action this season.
