Following a record 45-point performance against TCU, Kalee Whipple shared her thoughts on the week.
Well it has been too, too, long since I have lost talked to you all. I am so glad this week is my turn to blog. It has been a crazy week as many of you know. A good crazy though. We started the week off on Wednesday with TCU. The 24th team in country I believe. We played one of the most thrilling and also the longest game of my life that night. Unfortunately we did not come out with a win that night, but I could not be more proud of the way our team competed. We played a great team and stuck around for a game and a half. We played our hearts out and we now know that we can compete with a team in the top 25 of the country. We were graciously rewarded a light day of practice the next day in which we watched film and tried to recover from the night before. We are so appreciative that you all stuck around for the entire game. It was a weekday and we kept you out until very late, but I hope it was worth it.
The good thing about conference is that we get to quickly forget about the game on Wednesday and play again on Saturday. We had to get over the loss of playing TCU and move on to playing New Mexico at The Pit, not an easy task for any team - ever. New Mexico has been playing very well and we were in need of a win. The seniors on this team have never lost to New Mexico at The Pit and we wanted to keep it that way, especially for our senior season. We went into the game very excited and played with a lot of heart, character, and passion. In doing so we came out with a three-point victory. It was a great feeling, we were all very excited. So now that we have got that game done with a great victory we again have to forget about it and move on to our next opponent. We have UNLV coming up this Wednesday and because they came to our home court and beat us we have some payback to give. We are going to practice hard this week and go to Vegas and play as hard as we did on Saturday.
Well that is the update for the week. Again thank you so much for all your support and loud cheering. We could not have had the success we have had without you. Hope to see all you guys next Sunday against San Diego State.
Until Next Time,
Kalee Dawn Whipple
