SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah women's basketball team returns home after a pair of big road wins to face San Diego State on Sunday, Feb. 21, at 2:00 p.m. in the Huntsman Center. The game will be aired live on The Mtn., with radio available at KALL 700 AM.
Utah is coming off a 51-35 win over UNLV. It is the second time this season the Utes have held a team to 35 points. Kalee Whipple (19 points and 11 rebounds) and Halie Sawyer (11 points and 10 rebounds) each had a double-double.
San Diego State is coming off a big win over top-25 team TCU, 84-61. However, the Aztecs had dropped their previous three games to New Mexico, Wyoming and UNLV.
Jene Morris ranks third in the conference in scoring with 15.8 points per game. Quenese Davis (12.1) and Paris Johnson (11.4) are also averaging in double-figure points. Johnson and Jessika Bradley are averaging over six rebounds per game. Davis leads the MWC with 5.2 assists per game.
Utah dropped a 51-42 decision to San Diego State back on Jan. 20. Taryn Wicijowski had 16 points to lead Utah while Morris tallied 22 to for the Aztecs. The game was very close until SDSU pulled away in the final minutes.
